This year rejoice giant Pathé cinema, in collaboration with Dutch Film Fund, movie fans again with a series of ultra-short animated films, prior to the big blockbusters running in the halls. 'Ultra-short! "Is Dutch for young animators a wonderful opportunity to show their work to a large audience. The author of the film 'Full Feather Jacket "(2015) Liz El Saadany (1989), who studied at the Willem de Kooning Academy in Rotterdam. Since her study she is known as one of the most talented animators of our country; her graduation project 'Follow Through' (2014) earned her a nomination for the prestigious Dioraphte Award and was screened at various film festivals. She also collaborated on the long animated film "Pim & Pom: The Big Adventure" (2014).
El Saadany made 'Full Feather Jacket' with former classmates Arjen van der Meer and Marjon Haasnoot. As the title suggests, 'Full Feather Jacket' a reference to Stanley Kubrick's acclaimed war drama "Full Metal Jacket" from 1987. Here too, will make a clumsy novice with a tough drill instructor, already running it here gulls. The clumsy Manfred takes his job as a cleaner at an air base or fine. But when he accidentally is killing one of the members of a command, it is the bossy sergeant Beak (of course with hat!) Forced to take his place. Reluctantly Manfred must go on a perilous mission, which he obviously was not totally unprepared.
In war movies we usually see tension, drama, a strong dose of heroism and often necessary bloodshed. 'Full Feather Jacket' has also all but Liz El Saadany know it all to be packed very funny and airy. The animations are also authentic and appealing, what 'Full Feather Jacket' is a particularly pleasant whole. The film was produced by The Drawing Room and was linked to "Mission: Impossible - Rogue Nation" (2015) in the halls of Pathé.
